Labels play an important role in the final look of your product. There are many different types of labels: pressure sensitive paper labels, in mold injection labels, shrink decorations, and glue applied and film labels, to name a few. Each type has advantages and differences in applications.
Pressure sensitive paper labels are the most common type of labels used in the supplement industry today. These labels are durable, versatile, and can handle intense colors in printing. Manufacturers like these labels because they can be swapped out in the production very quickly. This allows the manufacturer to change from one SKU to another without slowing down the line for long periods.
In mold injection labels give products the “no label” look. Heat bonding is used in the production of the bottle during the molding process. The end result is the graphics appear to be printed directly on the bottle. This type of label works well for very high-volume products.
Shrink decorations follow the contour and shape of your bottle to offer 360-degree graphics. The 360-degree coverage allows you to maximize the message to your customer and allows your product to stand out from others.
Glue applied and film labels contain no adhesive. The glue is applied as part of the application process. These types of labels are sometimes called “cut & stack” labels. Glue applied labels can be very economical, but are not as durable as some other types.
